HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS THE DUKE OF YORK TO VISIT MILTON KEYNES THEATRE

Milton Keynes Theatre this week prepares for the first royal visit in their 10 year history as His Royal Highness, The Duke of York announces his attendance for English National Ballet’s performance of Rudolf Nureyev’s unforgettable Romeo Juliet on Tuesday 2 November.

As Patron of English National Ballet The Duke of York takes an interest in all aspects of their work and devotes a great deal of time supporting the Company in many different ways. English National Ballet is always delighted when The Duke is able to attend events and key performances throughout the year and his frequent visits to rehearsals are a high point in the Company's calendar. These are tremendous opportunities for the Company’s dancers and staff to talk to His Royal Highness about what goes on behind-the-scenes in the lead-up to performances.

This latest visit to Milton Keynes Theatre helps to celebrate 60 years of English National Ballet and their first ever performance Milton Keynes supporting their vision to take affordable classical ballet of the highest quality to the widest geographical audience.

The Duke was recently invaluable in his support of English National Ballet’s performances on UK National Day at Shanghai World Expo, where English National Ballet was thrilled to be chosen to represent the country in a collaboration with Shanghai Ballet.

The Duke is well known to have a long association with, and keen interest in, dance. He is Patron of The Place, which is home to London Contemporary Dance School, and supports a number of other contemporary dance companies.

The role of Patron has previously been held by Her Royal Highness, Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon (1976-1989), and by Diana, Princess of Wales (1989-1997).
