HBR Scholarship Program

2015 – 2016

The Hinckley Lion’s Club will present to a graduating HBR High School senior a scholarship for tuition only payable to any community college, trade school, union or apprentice program of the recipient’s choice. The first scholarship was awarded to a graduating senior of the class of 2005.

This $3,000.00 scholarship will be paid out in equal payments per semester with the first semester being paid without any documentation of proof of grades and all continuing payments to be paid with the student maintaining an equivalent of a C average or higher. Each awarded scholarship will expire after two years from the student’s date of high school graduation regardless if they have used up the full amount. If the student elects a program that finishes in less than two years the equivalent of the two-year dollar amount will presented with acceptable grades. The awarded recipient will be required to sign a privacy of information release allowing the Lions Club to information from the school regarding their finances and grades.

The application must by typed or computer generated. Handwritten applications will be rejected. The application format should be questions followed by the answers. Part I should be on a separate sheet from Part II. The second year’s scholarship application will be without Part II however the student will be required to provide a transcript of grades and willing to sign all privacy statements needed to release such information to the Hinckley Lions Club or any assigned representative of the club.

Children of a Hinckley Lions member will be eligible for this scholarship.
