Raigmore Reconfiguration

Update 1st May 2017

1.  Dermatology Day-case Unit Access

Works to resurface the road between the breast and maternity units to improve access for members of the public with mobility difficulties are planned to be completed within the next week. Perimeter fence surrounding the unit has been completed

2.  Ward 1A

Works continue with erection of partitions to reconfigure this area for the co-location of ITU/SHDU. The works are planned for completion to relocate ITU/SHDU to 1A November 2017. The erection of partitions will continue for potentially another two weeks.

3.  Ward GA

Works continue with erection of partitions to reconfigure GA/GB for 6A, MHDU and Triage. The works within this area will continue until approximately November 2017 when it is planned to relocate 6A, MHDU and Triage without CCU and Cardiology as GC is not expected to be completed until November 2019.

4.  Critical Services Upgrade

The 9 separate phases (Phases a-I) within the construction programme remain under constant review by PSCP and NHSH to try and ensure the planned completion date remains as agreed programme. Some re-sequencing may be required to maintain programme.

All stakeholders are requested to help identify solutions to any issues or concerns during the works to minimise stoppages and help maintain programme.

5.  Maternity Annexe –

Staff from Maternity annex remain in the coffee lounge, the works to install the foundations and services required for the annex unit to be relocated have not progressed.

The potential relocation of staff from the coffee lounge remains under discussion, a meeting to update impacted staff is planned for 8th May.

The project team scoped complementing the coffee lounge accommodation with additional modular office facilities to ease the congestion within the coffee lounge. A modular facility has been identified and costed but we await confirmation that the staff wish to take up this proposal and agreement of our Partnership colleagues for the coffee lounge to remain in its present use. This proposal will be discussed further at the meeting on the 8th May.

The new two storey building planned completion is presently under review with the rest of the programmed works. The new building will accommodate annexe staff on the ground floor and the top floor housing Theatre changing rooms and Anaesthetists office accommodation.

6.  Outline Programme for Project for May 2017 is as follows:-

·  Completion of Theatres steelwork - Project team would wish to thank theatre staff and staff within Fetal scanning for their forbearance over last two weeks as stoppages have decreased and the erection of the steelwork has progressed well. (please see Appendix 1)

·  New cladding to roof level platform

·  Roof works to continue

·  Continue GA/B & 1A erection of partitions (see Appendix 1)

Construction period 20th June 2016 – 20th November 2019

7.  Ward Block Fire Improvement Works

No change to previous information.

8.  Waste Rooms

An area on the ground floor presently housing flooring materials has been identified as a waste holding area for Theatre Eurobins during and on completion of the Theatre Upgrade. An alternative flooring materials store has been identified and will be brought into use following the completion of the Maternity annex and the relocation of staff from the coffee lounge.

No further update to report.

9.  Outpatient Cafe

This project is presently on hold.

10. Highland Heartbeat Centre/Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy

SCN Charlie Bloe project managing the development and delivery of Heartbeat services, communication and consultation with main stakeholders continues.

There is presently no further update on the relocation of York Day Hospital.

Alternative locations for the transfer of above services are presently being scoped.

Infusion Suite has not yet moved to its new location.

11. Dermatology/Sexual Health Outpatient Service

There is no further update on the relocation of the above services as this is reliant on other projects being finalised. However discussions are ongoing to try and resolve outstanding issues.

Meetings with stakeholders will commence when all potential plans to facilitate the relocation are in place to enable fulsome discussion.

12. Paediatric Outpatients

This area has been identified as another phase for the Highland Children’s Unit. The upgrade and potential relocation of this department is now being considered however this is the first stage of a long process. Stakeholder meetings will commence when there is any progress.

13. Elective Care Centre

NHS Highland Elective Care Centre (ECC) is part of a programme of work to provide a new build centre on a green field site at the University Highland & Islands campus and is a collaborative proposal between NHSH, UHI and HIE.

The Elective Care facilities ideally will be operational within the current Parliament; the Initial Agreement (IA) business case draft has been completed and is presently being reviewed prior to being submitted to the SG for approval.
