  • This week we will discusshowGod told Joseph in a dream to flee from Herod, who was trying to kill Jesus. We also heard how God told Joseph when it was safe to come home. Like Joseph, we need to listen to God and follow where he leads (Matthew 2:13-23).
  • See Family Connect Handout Link in Enews for FamilyDiscussion.
  • Prayer:God, thank you that you care enough about each of us that you want to guide and protect us each day. Please teach us to listen to you and follow where you lead. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Children’s Message- For Ages 3 - 1st Grade

  • This week we will discuss John 1: 29-34, Called by the Gospel. Like John the Baptist, we know that we can'tbelieve in Jesus on our own or come to Him. This is because sin makes us blind and deaf to God. If it were up to us, we'd completely miss God's call! But the Holy Spirit has called us by the Gospel, delivered Jesus to us, made us holy, and kept us in the true faith. Because salvation from sin is God's work, we knowthat His call to us is a sure thing. In Baptism, the Spirit's gift, He chooses us, calls us, and gives us a new identity and a job to do, just like the many disciples He has called before us.
  • Prayer:Dear Jesus, thank You for calling me to be Your own. Help me also to be faithful in all You have called me to do as a son or daughter, brother or sister, classmate, or other roles I have. Let me show Your love in all I say and do. Amen.
  • In addition to the lesson, we are spending timethis falllearning the 10 Commandments in a fun way using the parts of our body. We are starting at the top of our head and going all the way down to our toes.

This week we will be spending time reviewing the first 5 commandments.

Looking Ahead
