HIGH SCHOOL SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS

FEBRUARY 9-10, 2018

FACILITY: Indoor pool (Dome). Pool dimensions 50 meters by 25 yards, 2 tanks, 8-10 lanes each,

2.5 meters per lane. Competition will occur in deep end of pool; starts and turns will be

at 16.0 feet depth. Parking available and seating for 1,500 spectators. Swim venue

includes all-enclosed indoor pool natatorium with electronic timing (Daktronics) and

matrix scoreboard. The starting end of the pool is 16 feet deep, the shallow end is 6.0

feet deep. Warm up and Warm down pool available for duration of competition.

Swimmers are not allowed to shave at the facility.

RELAY DEADLINES: Medley Relay – 45 minutes prior to the start of competition (Friday 4:00/Saturday 3:15)

200 Free Relay – at the start of the girls 100 Butterfly

400 Free Relay – at the start of the boys 500 Freestyle

ENTRIES: Varsity Events:

Each competitor may enter a maximum of 4 events.

2 Individual Events / 2 Relays

1 Individual Event / 3 Relays

Each team may enter a maximum of 4 swimmers for each event.

Each team may enter a maximum of 1 relay per event (swimming in Finals on Saturday).

Junior Varsity Events:

Junior Varsity athletes can swim both Varsity and/or Junior Varsity but can be entered in no

more than four (4) events (maximum 2 individual).

Each team may enter multiple relays but cannot exceed the maximum per competitor of

4 events (swimming in Prelims on Friday).

All times to be submitted in YARDS. Please be sure to indicate each swimmer’s year of high school as a number, i.e. 9, 10, 11, or 12.

Please include your e-mail address with your entries so we can confirm that we have received them and make any clarifications needed.

SEEDING MEETING: Seeding/Coaches Meeting will take place Monday, February 5th, at 6:30 p.m. at Mt Hood Community College Aquatics Center in the classroom. Please make sure to bring any Entry Changes and submit to Martin/Julie at the start of the meeting.

PRELIMS/FINALS: Varsity Events:

Top (sixteen) 16 Individuals will advance from prelims to finals.

Varsity Relays will take place during the finals session only.

1 – 8 prelim placers will compete in Championship Final Heat.

9 – 16 prelim placers will compete in Consolation Final Heat.

If a consolation swimmer swims faster than a swimmer in the final heat of that event, the

highest place the consolidation swimmer can be awarded is 9th.

**JULIE MUST RECEIVE ALL ENTRIES BY NOON (12:00 P.M.) ON SATURDAY,

FEBRUARY 3RD, 2018.

AWARDS: 1st place medal in all events; 2nd – 8th place ribbons in all events.

No awards for JV events.

ADMISSION FEES: $6.00 per session adults. $4.00 per session students. Senior citizens 62 and older are free.

TEAM AREA: Deck space for swimmers is located around the competition pool. Be courteous to other

teams. Swimmers should be on deck and in designated bleachers and not located in the

spectator bleachers. Spectators are asked to stay in spectator areas. Please police your area

for trash. It is important to remind you that no glass of any kind is allowed on deck or in the

pool.

TIMERS: Each school is responsible for providing back up timers. Please provide the names of timers to

Julie Greenaway @ prior to the preliminary session (NLT Thursday

evening). The lane assignments for timing will be given in the coaches’ packet at the start of

the meet.

CONCESSIONS: A concession stand area will be open for the duration of the meet.

APPAREL: NW Swim Shop will be selling event apparel. Swim supplies will be available for purchase.

Northwest Designs will be selling custom meet t-shirts/sweatshirts.
