HEAD OF WIGS & MAKE-UP

The Wigs & Make-up department is part of the Costumes, Wigs & Make-up department.

The head of Wigs & Make-up manages a team of 11 hair and make-up artists, and is responsible for the quality of the hair and make-up work carried out and created for both opera and ballet productions. The head of Wigs & Make-up ensures the high quality of hair and make-up work, both in the workshop and on stage in the opera and ballet performances.

The head of department is also responsible for the day-to-day running of the department and for discussing and budgeting the productions.

The Wigs & Make-up team works at irregular hours on performance days. The other days are in the workshop.

job requirements

·  relevant training background;

·  several years’ experience in a managerial job;

·  exceptional skills in wig making and make up creation;

·  team builder;

·  knowledge of special effects techniques;

·  fluency in Dutch (or willing to learn it), German and English;

·  flexibility (irregular working hours).

Initially, it concerns an appointment for a period of 12 months (with the intention of offering a permanent employment). In the case of a full-time contract of employment, the salary is a minimum of € 3,303.00 and a maximum of € 4,720.00 gross per month, in accordance with the Dutch National Opera & Ballet collective labour agreement. These amounts are exclusive of 8% holiday allowance and a year-end bonus.
