Election Web Quest.

As we are getting closer to the election we are going to take some time to find out information about the election process here in the United States. I hope that by researching and completing the following activities that you will have better understanding of the election process, and our responsibilities as citizens of this great country.

Here is a list of topics and activities you will complete in order to learn about the election process. You will need to complete the activities with a “*” next to it and three other items of your choice. (You may do more then two activities and receive additional credit)

  1. What are the Qualifications for President/Vice President, U.S Senator, and U.S Representative? (*)
  2. Find out how the President and Vice-President are elected? (*)
  3. Who’s your favorite President? Read a brief biography and write a paragraph explaining your choice.
  4. Research and Compare the two (Democrat and Republican) political parties. How are they the same and how are they different? What party best lines up with your beliefs? (*)
  5. Complete a Candidate Fact sheet. Barrack Obama and Mitt Romney. Compare the Candidates. (Create a chart that shows how they are different on important issues.)
  6. Make a (school appropriate) campaign button/poster for your candidate.
  7. Play “If You Were President” online. (Write a reflection about your experience as President.)
  8. Explore the web site then interact with some of the games and write down three important things that you learned from the web site. (*)
  9. Go through the activities listed in the suggested resources and explore the sites and explain which three you liked the best. Explain why you liked them and what you learned from them.
  10. Select and define five new election vocabulary words from the following list and define them in your own words.
