As the AZBO Chairman, I would like to thank you for your sponsorship of our organization. Without the support of organizations and people like you, we would not be able to provide the high level of educational opportunities that we provide throughout Arizona.
AZBO is a501c6 non-profit organization.We provide affordable educational opportunities to inspectors, plans examiners, contractors and building officials in Arizona. We are an ICC Preferred Provider and a chapter of the International Code Council (ICC). We participate in the development of the codes and standards that protect communities throughout Arizona.
Over the past year our focus has been onimproving relationships with the business community while obtaining code compliance. Moving forward, Building Officials must strive to be the Trusted Construction Advisors and together we can reach the goal of promoting safeconstruction and efficienteconomic development. Input from business partners such as yourself will help us reach this goal.
Here are some of our contributions and accomplishments:
- AZBO held two week-long educational institutes,providingnearly 12,000classroom hours
toover 1600 code officials from across the state.
- AZBO continued to seek overhead cost reductions in the management and registration
processes for the institutes.
- AZBO provided seven scholarships for the Southwest Leadership Program at Eller College
to future leaders of code organizations at a cost of $14,500.
- AZBO partnered in the Arizona Construction Career Days and provided outreach to1200+High School students and United States Veterans, educating them on careers in Building Safety.
- AZBO provided 25 volunteers to assist with the Special Olympics of Arizona’s Aquatics completion.
- AZBO Board recognized the value the AZBO Education Committee and the Permit Tech Committeebring to its partners and image. The Board increased their budgets so they can continue to deliver the AZBO brand as the premier code education organization in the State of Arizona.
- AZBO provided conference fees forAZBO members to represent Arizona at the International Code Council Annual Business Meeting.
- AZBO continued sponsorship of the ICC’s PermitTechNation organization.
- AZBO implementedanoverhaul of our financial accounting system providing more transparency and more accurate budgeting for the organization.
- AZBO sponsored a day of training on Branding and Image, focused on the organization and how we represent ourselvesto the public.
- AZBO sponsored two clothing drives for the Sojourner Domestic Violence shelter.
- AZBO partnered with code officials from Utah, Colorado, and Nevada to continue the ICC Region XI ICC Chapter; focusingoncode development issues that affect the southwestern states.
