Job Title: Enterprise Development Coordinator

Project: Up scaling the production and consumption of Bio-Energy to reduce carbon emissions and enhance local Employment in Nepal

Location: Project Management Unit, Lalitpur with more than 50% field visits i

Reporting to: Team Leader

Job purpose:

The Enterprise Development Coordinator is overall responsible for capacity building of Business Development Service Providers (BDSPs) thereby ensuring the implementation of enterprising support activities of the project. This position will coordinate with all actors of the value chain for enterprising activities implementation in all project districts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1.  Compliance of Policies Guidelines and Manuals

Ensure compliance of the HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation Nepal’s policies, guidelines and Manuals (Personnel, Financial and Administrative and other applicable policies, guidelines and Manuals).

2.  Capacity Development Support

·  Assess the capacity of Business Development Service Providers (BDSPs) and ensures for capacity development activities implementation.

·  Take lead role to identify and select the business development services providers for delivering relevant services to the entrepreneurs of the value chain i.e, Contractors, Retort manufacture, charcoal producers, traders, Users (VSBK/hotels).

·  Coordinate for capacity building of contractor and other enterprising actors in the value chain through training, exposure visit, business planning.

·  Proactively coordinate to establish business linkage of private sector contractor for bio-mass harvesting with forest user group and private forest user.

·  Support for rapid resources assessment for commercial analysis in coordination with partner staff.

3.  Business Development Service Delivery

·  Take lead role to support for business planning for starting new and expansion of existing enterprises and link with external financial institutes.

·  Identify the interested banks/FI/cooperatives for financing the enterprise (expansion and start up) establishing business agreement among them.

·  Take lead role to develop and implement business development support package to the all entrepreneurial actors of the chain.

·  Promote new and capacitate the existing charcoal producing enterprise in close collaboration with the retort engineering team and marketing team.

·  Closely work with the marketing team for strengthening value chain network for relationship business marketing.

·  Facilitate to organize the charcoal producers for economic scale of supply and deal with the business situation collectively.

4.  Support for program management

·  Support the business parties of the value chain to do the contractual agreement to establish the linkage strong.

·  Carry out periodic review meetings with service providers.

·  Capacitate service providers on preparing outputs and outcome reports.

·  Support to prepare the periodic plans and reports of project.

·  Be an active team member in the Program management team.

·  Perform other activities assigned by TLs as per project requirement.

Networking and Coordination

·  Within the leadership of Team Leader maintain good communication with the team members, .partners. focal persons in both cluster

·  Coordinate with local stakeholders, line agencies and private sectors in order to perform project activities.

·  Assist in planning and implementation of project activities in both clusters.

Required Qualification, Experiences and Competencies

Qualification

·  Master Degree in Business Administration, Economics or in any relevant field

Experience and Competency

·  At least five years of work experience on Enterprise Development sector.

·  Practical experience on capacity building sector, building capacity of partners and in training facilitation, coaching and monitoring

·  Experience in business development services, enterprising, business planning, credit linkage

·  Good understanding of forest products, actors involved, forest based enterprise and familiar with value chain linkage

·  Good understand of issues related to gender, social equity and poverty alleviation and governance

·  Good in reporting and documentation

·  Result orientated personality/maintaining deadlines

·  Excellent interpersonal, inter-cultural competencies and good team player

·  Fluency in Nepali and English, both written and oral

·  IT proficiency and efficiency in using communication applications.
