Hello….The members of the Springfield Ceramics and Crafts Club would like you to know a little about us.

  • Our continuing history: Club meetings were originally held in members’ homes, churches, or hotels, beginning in 1924;however, the Club now owns its own studio located at 2626 South Pasfield in Springfield.
  • The recently renovated studio is a beautiful, bright, cheerful building (handicapped accessible) with abundant space for workshops and meetings. It is also available for rentals.
  • Our membership is limited to 150 active members actively engaged in arts and crafts.
  • We have an Endowment Fund, to which we encourage our members to contribute, especially in memory of a Club member.
  • We share information through our Newsletter, The Studio News, includes member news, calendar listing upcoming events, classes, meetings, etc. andwebsite (
  • We enjoy Club activities and fellowship, learn new arts and craft skills, and make new friends. While the Club objectives are the pursuit of arts and crafts, its purposes are educational, social and community service.
  • Workshop classes are scheduled in a variety of craft and educational areas throughout the fiscal year, led by our very talented members in media such as: painting, knitting, jewelry making, scrap-booking, weaving, ceramics, sewing, quilting, genealogy, basket making, beading, cross stitch, and copper enameling, to name a few.Members may sign up for classes at the Spring Sign-up in May and the Fall Sign-up in September.
  • Occasionally, tour trips are scheduled during the year. Past trips have included visits to Navy Pier in Chicago, the Belleville Christmas Craft Show, and the Van Gogh Exhibit in Chicago.
  • Annual social highlights include our Annual Table Setting Luncheon in April, during which new members display table settings of special significance in their lives and all members display some of their artistic creations from the past year’s classes. We host a special Fall Holiday Market, a Christmas Tea, and a New Members’ Reception in the late spring, as we introduce them to our full membership.
  • The SCCC presents an annual grant to a local school classroom. Members also are involved in community service projects, such as Basket of Hope, working with Black Hawk and Harvard Park Grade School students after school, art projects, and projects for our Troops!
  • Our Members have the following responsibilities:
  • Pay annual dues of $40.00
