Hello Parents! February 9, 2015

Our insect projects turned out so GREAT! I appreciate all the time and effort that went into them; I know the students learned a lot from their research. The “Desk Fairy” (aka Miss Klass) has been visiting our classroom and finding the most organized and clean desks! You would be amazed at what a hard choice it has been for her…so many desks have been worthy of the “Desk Fairy” certificate and prize!!! We are really working hard on using our folder system to help us stay organized and neat!

Don’t forget that our weekly newsletter and other helpful information and links can be found on my school website. (http://montanacity.schoolwires.com)

We are having a Chapter 14 Math test on Tuesday. Thanks for helping your child complete their study guide. We have been making a vocabulary book with definitions and pictures as well as acting out some of the geometry words. Thanks for helping them practice, prepare, and study for the test!

Science fair forms are due on February 10th.

We are having our Valentine’s Day party on February 13th from 2:30-3:20. I have the following students signed up to bring snacks for the party. Please let me know if your child will not be able to bring their assigned items. Thanks so much! Also, if you child has chosen to make a box at home, please have them bring it to school on Friday.

We are going to be starting a THIRD GRADE ROCK UNIT. Please have your child bring in a “pet rock” from their backyard by Friday. It should be smaller than their fist and able to be scratched.

We will be working on locating states and capitals; there is a good website game found at http://www.funstufftosee.com/states2.html . Learning the states and capitals now will help them be successful next year!

President’s Day is in the month of February, so we are going to be learning a bit about some of our past presidents! It should be great fun!

Thrilling third grader this week:

Christopher quintinsky!

Have a great week-

Miss Klass
