Hello Local Business Professional - February 8th, 2013

Hello I am Aline Wilking, JCC Elementary Art Teacher. This spring I will be coordinating the installation of a mosaic mural at both theRiverside and Pleasantview Elementary, which will be called the Great Wall of Art. Here all580 young artists will have the opportunity topermanentlydisplaytheir artwork. I intend to beautify the buildings by promotinga sense of belongingness and school community pridethrough celebrating each individual as anessential part of our school!

Currently students are creating original artwork to possibly be included. In March, I will askparents to purchase a ceramic tileof their child’s artwork for $9.75, as a donation to the school. On March 21st all orders will be sent to Square 1 Art, who will print high quality reproductions on ceramic tiles. High School and Junior High artistswill also create Husky centerpieces. Then in May, all tiles obtained will be installed together to create the Great Wall of Art!

Foras much participation as possibleI am seeking community support to ensure all students’ artwork is included no matter their parent’s financial status. With donations, I can purchase any tile at the reduced cost of $6.50;I also need to purchase blank tiles to create the centerpieces. Please see the reverse side of this document for specifics. Businesses will be acknowledged with a plaque next to the wall and invited to the unveiling ceremony in May. Imagine the look in a child’s face when they see that, indeed their artwork was included in the Great Wall of Art!

Please contact me if you’d be willing to help out with this endeavorin any way. Thank you very much for reading and I look forward to speaking with you soon!

** Estimated installation cost were determined by a family contractor. However, at each elementary building I am hoping to obtain volunteer labor within the district!
