Hello!
I am so glad to see you this morning! My name is Ms. Gregory and I will be your fourth grade teacher this year. I am so glad to have you in our class!! Here is a list to get started and organized.

  1. Please turn any information your parents have sent back to school on U- shaped table near the window.
  1. You will notice that I have boxes set up around the room to take up some of your supplies. Some of the supplies you brought will be put in one of the boxes around the room. Go ahead and put supplies in the boxes.
  1. Please put the notebook paper in one pocket of your expandable folder. You do not need to label the tabs now. We will do that together in class. Use the markers on your table to WRITE YOUR NAME ON ALL OF YOUR FOLDERS AND NOTEBOOKSyou brought from home. I will tell you what to do with the rest of your supplies in a minute!
  1. Find your cubby/ locker by the book corner. Put your snack (if you brought one) and expandable folder in your cubby to get it out of the way for now. Spiral notebooks, composition books (this usually has a black and white spotted cover), the other pocket folders, pencils, markers and dry erase markers can also go in your cubby.

By now you should have everything unpacked and in the correct places (empty book bags can be hung on the hooks at the back of the room and lunch boxes in the crate by your cubbies). If you do not have these items in the correct places, do this now and return to your seat. This letter will give you some background information about me, and help guide you through the first few moments of school.

I am from this area and went to R.D. Head Elementary (it’s just down the street!). I graduated from NorthGeorgiaCollege in Dahlonega. I have known I wanted to be a teacher since I was in second grade! I enjoy drawing, painting, reading and going shopping. I love going to the movies and like all kinds of music, so if you ever need a movie or CD review you can just ask! I have been married for two years and have no children, but I do have two cats (they are my “children”). I am a student, too! I am working on my Masters degree at MercerUniversity at night. I get homework to do at night too!

My favorite subjects to teach are Reading and Writing. I really enjoy doing activities that use imagination and creativity. This year we will have the chance to read many different types of literature and you will have some choice in what you read.

You made it through this long letter! Whew! Now you may work on the personal crest all about you. You may write or draw pictures. When you finish you may play with pattern blocks, draw, or work on a puzzle.
Ask me where these are!

I am looking forward to getting to know you! We are off to a wonderful year!
Mrs. Gregory
