Heat Treatment - Technical Sales Co-ordinator

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced sales person with a relevant technical background to work within the sales and marketing team tosupport achievement of sales targets for new and existing customers.To manage customer accounts and to contribute to the team’s plan to carry out direct marketing and sales activitiesand to grow sales in accordance with agreed business plans.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Work with other key members of the team to plan, develop and implement a clear sales strategy.
  • Agree, produce and ensure adherence to all sales KPI’s.
  • Produce, monitor and analyse all monthly sales figures for the department and report these to seniormanagement.
  • Achieve sales budget/targets and ensure minimum requirements for profit attainment.
  • Along with the Production Director, manage relationships with customers, keeping regular contact, ensuring their demands are met, complaints are followed up, price increases set and encourage growth of accounts.
  • Provide all relevant management information, e.g. call planner, visit reports.
  • Collect customer feedback, keep up-to-date on market trends and organise market research as appropriate.
  • Working with the Heat Treatment Production Director, identify and target new business opportunities.
  • Keep up to date with products and competitors and increase awareness of the commercial market.
  • Organiseattendance and exhibitor space at key exhibitions and conferences etc.
  • Review and develop/maintain sales quotation system.
  • Comply with any reasonable request from the Managing Director to undertake work of a similar level not specified in this job description.

Skills / Experience:

  • You must have experience and knowledge of heat treatment processes and/or mechanical engineering.
  • You must be a confident people person with excellent communication skills as this role manages the relationship between the department and the customer, requiring an understanding and ability to interpret their requirements.
  • You will need a full driving licence as you will spend most of your time out and about visiting customers and may from time to time be required to travel abroad.
  • Other skills that would benefit the role include previous sales experience, good IT skills, problem solving, the ability to work calmly under pressure, initiative, enthusiasm and a commercial awareness. You must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • You must be able to demonstrate a keenness to learn and develop new skills and a willingness to get your hands dirty.
  • You will receive full training at our factory in Keighley so you will ideally live within commuting distance.

Hours:

Monday to Thursday8.00am to 5.00pm (1 hour lunch break unpaid)

Friday8.00am to 3.15pm (1hour lunch break unpaid)

Total: 38.25hours per week

Holidays:

25 days per annum plus 8 statutory days

Salary:

Basic salary plus OTE
