Heart Rate Rubric Performance Task
You are overseeing Linglestown Middle Schools Health and PE department. Recently you have purchased heart rate monitors for students to wear during PE class to measure how hard they are working. Mr. Termin has asked you to come up with a rubric to use the heart rate monitor data to accurately and fairly grade your PE students. The students will start tracking their heart rates when the warm-ups begin and end tracking their heart rates when class ends. The Heart Rate monitor will track the students’ heart rate and will calculate the students’ average heart rate during that time. Use your knowledge of how to find Target Heart Rate zones to create an accurate and fair rubric to use for a 7th grader. Below is an example of a rubric format:

You must also write a paragraph that explains the reasoning behind your rubric and why it would accurately and fairly determine how hard a student is working during PE class.
