DH and JP met with NECHAG (North Edinburgh Community Health Action Group) however they are possibly winding up, apart from their involvement with Stepping Stones around access to maternity services. They want to be kept informed of any issues and will possibly be involved in short term working groups.

Contact Stepping Stones, PEACHIE Project and Parent and Toddler Groups re maternity services issues. Hopefully Stepping Stones will take a lead role in this group. Action: DH

Discussion around the new Health facility planned for North Edinburgh. Would like clarification as to where it will be built.

Some talk about it being located on the Waterfront rather than in Muirhouse. Cathy will check this out. Action: CW

The Forth Neighbourhood Partnership still have no rep from NHS Lothian. Cathy will check this with the LHP management team as she thinks NP’s have all been allocated a rep. Action: CW

CW contacted John Jack re the patient transport issue accessing hospitals and patients being stranded at RIE, sometimes with no money for transport home. Referred on to Ian Sneddon, Transport and Travel Manager, NHS Lothian. Joan asked why the staff shuttle bus can’t be used for transferring patients from WGH to RIE? Action: CW

It would be helpful to have a checklist of type of injuries treated at the Minor Injuries Unit at WGH. CW will check this. Action: CW

4.Any Other Business

4.1Lottery Applications

CW North Edinburgh Arts are working on a Lottery application for work with Older People. Advise Kate Wimpressto speak to Elizabeth Maginnis who is submitting an application as the Lottery will not fund similar work in 2 projects in the same area.

PCHP are through to the final 3 in a lottery bid and are to appear in a BBC TV programme where viewers vote for the best bid.

4.2Timing of Meetings

George and Joan suggested that these meetings would possibly attract more community reps if they were held in the evenings. EM advised that is may be problematic getting a minute taker if many more meetings were in the evenings as only covering a limited number of evening meetings per month. DH agreed to add this to the agenda for discussion at the next meeting.
