Health In Action eNewsletter and Website Statistics Report
April 2008
We have had a few comments over the last couple of months about how long the Health Link was getting. It was decided that the April issue of the Health Link would provide links to detailed information on our site instead of all the information on the eNewsletter itself. The benefit is it’s easier to read and it offers us more detailed statistics about what people are reading and clicking.
eNewsletter Opens
In March the Health Link was sent only one time due to Spring Break. The single March issue was opened 953 times which is about half the number of opens in two issues combined. We went back to our regular twice a month delivery in April and our open numbers are right back up (1,894). The number of opens reflects the actual number of times the email itself was opened. It does not count the number of people who are reading the eNewsletter in the preview pane of their email program. Actual readership could be significantly higher.
Website Visits: New vs. Returning Visitors
We are continuing to see a good rate of returning and new visitors, 68% and 32%, respectively. The average visitor spent about 1:41 viewing the site and viewed 1.96 pages per visit.
Top Content and Links
48 pages/links within the UA Health In Action were viewed a total of 2,957 times compared to March (50 pages/links viewed a total of 1,540 times). At left is a table showing the most popular pages and external resource links.
Most notably is the increase in number of external resources (link that leave our site for other sites) visited and pages within the April Health Link. There were 365 visits to the Get the Point page of the Health Link, 140 visits to the Wellness Break page, 67 visits to read more about Ima Fitt, and 59 visits to the page about Wellness Champions.
Health Tip of the Month
April’s tip was about how to find the right athletic shoe. It was sent to 125 email addresses and opened 55 times and viewed in the browser 29 times.
Online Wellness Center
The Online Wellness Center (OWC) is available from links from the UA Health In Action website, the UA Health Link eNewsletters, and the Health Activity Tracker.
The OWC contains a large volume of very useful information. Every month the target articles change which helps us promote different Wellness Challenges and drives people to the OWC for detailed information. In April, OWC was visited 210 times. The topics included Cancer Prevention, Healthy Feet, and Allergy Management.
Online Wellness Center—Top Articles
Here is a list of the top 10 articles along with the number of hits for April. It is possible that there are more visits than hits for an article as the front page of the OWC may have only been visited.
