Headline: Employee of the ‘Twin Dragon” Restaurant got jailed due to theft
Martha Fray, a 38-year old widow, who robbed “Chinese Dragon” restaurant located at 286 St. Anne’s Boulevard, Winnipeg, Manitoba, last November 20, 2011 Sunday at 0500 in the afternoon, was arrested and put to jail.
Having been trusted as a cashier for four years, Martha was given a key she could use to open and close the store. That afternoon of November 20, 2011, she broke in the restaurant using her store key and wore a mask to hide her identity. She was able to drag the vault out of the restaurant and carry it to her car when a passerby in the name of Tom Chua, spotted her in the act of theft. He then had the plate number written in his hand and dialed the local police station to report the incident. An hour later, the police was able to track down Martha, still in her car, in front of her house at Jefferson Avenue, with the opened vault beside her-surprisingly containing nothing but document papers. The police arrested her and interrogated her at the station. Martha, still emotional at this point explained while crying that the only reason why she stole the vault was lack of adequate money to send her kid, diagnosed with cancer, to a hospital. She added, “My husband didn’t leave any money when he died except numerous debts that I still have to pay”.
When the restaurant owner, also a famous actor in the name of Alfred Lee, was interviewed about the incident, he said he would still file a case against her. He added: “It is just upsetting to know that the person whom you trusted were the very ones capable of doing such bad things to you”.
