ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME
SELECTION CRITERIA
The primary goal of the Madison-Plains High School Hall of Fame is to recognize those individuals/teams that have made a significant contribution to the athletic program at MPHS during their time here. The following selection criteria are used to consider a nominee for the Madison-Plains High School Athletic Hall of Fame. The individual must meet the criteria listed below as well as other factors.
ATHLETE
The individual must:
Have had outstanding Varsity participation.
May have received athletic honors/recognition in high school and beyond (CIF/NCAA/NAIA/Professional programs).
Be of outstanding character.
Be a high school graduate/equivalent or beyond.
Have last attended high school 5 years or more prior to nomination.
Special consideration shall be given for record setting performance or state championship performance.
TEAMS
Any MPHS team who won a team state championship, including all players, coaches, team personnel and cheerleaders.
Other teams shall be considered who have earned special recognition through record setting performances as well as All District/ All Area/All State recognition.
COACHES
Former MPHS head or assistant coach.
Must have completed their tenure from Madison-Plains for a minimum of 5 years, unless special circumstances warrant otherwise.
Must have made outstanding contributions to the athletic program during his/her tenure.
Other factors shall be considered for coaches whose teams earned multiple league titles or District/Regional/State recognition.
SPECIAL NOMINEE
May include any Madison-Plains Local School staff whose tenure was completed from Madison-Plains for a minimum of 5 years, unless special circumstances warrant otherwise.
Athletic booster, community member or business having made significant contributions to the athletic program over an extended period
of time.
Nominations shall be considered on a case by case basis with no more than 1 selection per Hall of Fame year.
