Mayor Meier stated that his goal in calling this special meeting was to “give everyone the facts concerning the trespassing incident at the Hatton Swimming Pool during the July 4th holiday and put a stop to all of the rumors and misinformation that has been circulating since the complaint was brought to the attention of the Hatton city council at the July 9, 2012 council meeting.

Mayor Meier, Sheriff Mike Crocker and Deputy Steinhaus informed the attendees of this meeting with the facts, legal procedures and actions that occur once a complaint has been received.

Mayor Meier then addressed each citizen that requested to be on the agenda. Barb Huus, Don Huus, Fred Strand, Donalee Strand, Pat Ellis, and Kathy Workin each asked their questions and voiced their concerns regarding the trespassing incident, how the complaint proceeded and what they thought the city council should have or shouldn’t have done differently regarding the complaint.

Once the recognized parties were heard, Mayor Doug Meier posed this question to the Council: “Does anyone want to make any motion or take any course of action regarding this incident.

No motion of any kind was put forth.

Discussion ensued on any type of action to be taken to deter any future trespassing.
