Question?
Do you know the difference between popular magazine articles and empirical research found in a professional scholarly journal?

Professional journals:

Are written by experts, often on new developments/research in the field

Contain little or no advertising; have impressive lists of references

Are expensive and usually only owned by libraries and research facilities

Are “peer-reviewed,” meaning other experts review and approve the articles before publication

Are rarely available for free over the World Wide Web, with the rare exception of open source and open access journals
