Carnell Robinson presented an overview of a proposed model gang prevention and

protection program; and asked the Board to delay consideration of sale of Arrowhead

Road property until the next Board of Commissioners meeting.

Board authorized submission of grant application for proposed program regarding

gang activity prevention and intervention.

8. Authorization to hire Assistant Agriculture Agent – Jennifer Walker, Director, Cooperative Ext.

Board approved funding 60% of the salary.

9. Discussion of bids and contract award for McKoy Town Road waterline extension – Steve Ward,

Assistant Director, Public Utilities

Contract awarded to Temple Grading and Construction, Lillington, NC

10. Report of sealed bids for sale of former Northern Harnett Rescue Tract – Jennifer Slusser, Staff

Attorney

Two bids were received. Board will consider at a future meeting.

11. Resolution authorizing sale of real property located on Arrowhead Road in Averasboro

Township – Dwight W. Snow, County Attorney

Board will consider at next Board meeting.

-- Board appropriated $310,000.00 for Courthouse security using a plan deemed most

acceptable by the Sheriff and Resident Superior Court Judge that would provide

access to the building from both the front and back entrances.

12. County Manager’s Report – Neil Emory, County Manager

Board authorized lighting of the baseball field at Harnett Central High School.

Board authorized a proposed user agreement to be drafted regarding the future

Campbell University Convocation Center.

Board authorized removal of a wall in the County’s facility that houses Johnston

County Industries.
