Agenda topics – 2009 Annual event, 2010 Annual event, Web Site, Trophies, AOB

2009 Annual event – Sprowston manor
Discussion / Generally felt this event was a great success and that this type of venue, hotel and course on-site, should be the footprint for future annual events.
Conclusions / The only issue/concern/feedback was that future venues should have at least two courses.

2010 Annual event – Carden Park
Discussion / This has now been booked and there are 16 places available. Can we increase numbers if the need arises and what’s the latest date we would have to notify CardenPark. The total cost is £340.
Conclusions / Allocation of the 16 places will be on a first come basis, e.g. the first to pay there £50 deposit. The full deposit required by CardenPark is 25%, so we would like regular payments made so that the full deposit can be dispatched to them as soon as possible.

ContactCardenPark about increasing numbers and how much notice we would need to give them / Micky / 31st July 2009
Web Site
Discussion / Too much delay posting results and handicaps on the web site due to current process, e.g. Richard sending them to Pete and then Pete running them through his calculation program and then forwarding the spreadsheets to Martin for posting.
Conclusions / To try and expedite this in future we will post the current handicaps based on Richard’s initial calculations following the event. The cards will then be forwarded to Pete who will run them through his Excel calculation to ratify them, and send the full score sheets to Martin for posting.

Trophies
Discussion / Review relevanceand method of awarding all trophies.
Conclusions / It was decided to rename the “Lucky Bastard” and MIP trophies as they have either lost their significance or cause contention with allocation. To encourage monthly attendance the “Lucky Bastard” will be renamed to “Hammond Grand Prix”, and will be run, from June to April, using a points systemthe same as F1: At all monthly events the top 5 positions, e.g. the five top stableford scores, count back in the event of ties, will be allocated 10, 7, 4, 2, 1 points. The winner will be the person with the highest score following the April event.
The MIP will be renamed to “Hammond Tour Pro” and will be awarded by the committee to the outstanding player of the annual event.
The “Worst Drive” and “Limp and Lame” trophies will be dropped.

A.O.B
New Competition
Discussion / Andy P suggestion for aputting competition (“The President’s Pennant”) prior to the start of the main competition at the annual event to get everybody in the mood.
Conclusions / Generally felt to be a good idea as it is a straight knockout competition, which should not take too long and the added advantage of getting people to be on-site in time for the start of the main competition.

Monthly Events
Discussion / Courses for the year.
Conclusions / As you can see from the forum courses have been identified for the year. These are not set in stone and if any member wishes to suggest an alternative then feel free to do so.

Ryder Cup Identification
Discussion / Is there any way of identifying which team individuals belong from a distance.
Conclusions / The blue and white tops do not provide any way of identifying who is in the Europe or USA team from distance as the tops are usually covered up. Various options were considered, hats, badges etc, but some people don’t wear hats and badges would not be big enough to be seen. Any suggestions welcome.

Shortfall in numbers for annual event
Discussion / Process for increasing/decreasing numbers for the annual event in the event of members not being available.
Conclusions / Based on the contract with the venue, timescales and to avoid financial penalty, information will be posted on the web site as to the position regarding spacesavailable so all members have the opportunity of inviting a guest/s. These will be allocated on a first come basis.
