Role (Translation & Managerial):

-Was responsible for the overall management and administration of the branch as follows:

  • Initiating, organizing and laying the course of actions for a "Translation Pool" where translators ensconced in one central area that would respond to various written and oral translation requests. Organization included formation of translators' groups for special or general projects, identification of specialty skills, preparation of transmittals and setting the table of distribution.
  • Closely supervised and carried the translation work processes to completion, verified that original and copies of accomplished work were returned and/or distributed to concerning parties, setting timeframes and deadlines while achieving high degree of work security.
  • Performing editing and proofreading translation tasks.

Role (Translation & Managerial):

  • I had a Blank Purchase Agreement (BPA) signed with the US Army Corps of Engineers/Ordnance Program Division (USACE/OPD) to supply translation services which lasted for approximately eleven years.
  • Responsible for reception, distribution and collection of translation requests and delivery of proofread and achieved work within set deadlines and timeframes.
  • Personally shouldered the responsibility of writing, translating and typing correspondences, agreements, memos of understanding of high sensitivity and confidentiality.
  • Supervised and proofread translations of subordinate translators of the Program for the Ordnance Corps maintenance and supply contracts and the related Foreign Military Sales Cases (FMS Cases).

Role (Translation):

-Provided translation services from English to Arabic and vice versa for a wide range of functions including highly technical subjects.

-Involved in translating military stuff such as engineering specifications, operating characteristics pertaining to military and commercial vehicles and equipment, weapons assemblies and repair parts. Participated in translating technical manuals and supply references that dealt with the latest military supply and logistics trends and doctrines.

-Acted as English/Arabic interpreter/translator during conferences and meetings relating to technical functions of the Saudi Arabian Army Ordnance Corps (SAAOC).

-Attended, translated/interpreted and typed minutes of meetings between the company and the owner of the project, Water Saline Conversion Corporation, and the Consultants.

-Was assigned as the Assistant to the project technical Coordinator to verify, review and prepare project documentations for submission to the Government agencies in both Arabic and English.
