API 17G2 riserless Subsea pumping systems

STATUS REPORT

1.  status

The 17G2 Riserless Subsea Pumping Systems Group is meeting on a quarterly frequency via telecoms. Earlier meetings dedicated time to solicit membership from individuals with coveted skill sets, obtain alignment of what should be included/excluded in the document, and schematic reviews of known systems that are in service globally. Membership is robust but still lacking in a couple areas necessary to complete deliverables (i.e. expertise to develop and mature the equivalents of Annex B and C for spooled fluid conduit products and their associated deployment configurations).

It was decided that the G2 Document will follow the same format as the main 17G document. As such, draft clauses for Scope, System Requirements, and Functional Requirements are at various stages of development, review, and editing at this time. The G2 Group is sharing work in progress and documentation with the other Baby G teams in an effort to obtain alignment. In addition, some of the work product is relevant to other Baby G’s as there are a couple overlap team initiatives (i.e. fluid conduit subject matter is common with G3 Riserless Light Well Intervention efforts and composite design methodology as it relates to mechanical performance is common with the G1 Non Ferrous Alloys effort).

o  Clause 2 (Normative References) is deferred at this time and will be addressed later as the other clauses and annexes mature.

o  Clause 3 (Terms, Definitions, etc.) is being ever greened as the subject matter of riserless subsea pumping systems is developed in the document.

o  Clause 4 (System Requirements) is partially drafted and distributed for review by the main G2 team.

o  Clause 5 (Functional Requirements) is partially drafted and distributed for review by the main G2 team.

o  The next G2 team telecom is scheduled for January 12th 2014.
