Guidelines for Weightage for Attendance and Continuous Evaluation

To ensure regularity of students in class, weight age will be given to attendance and class performance of the students. For this 5 marks will be counted towards the final theory exam if the paper is of 100 marks and 8 marks will be counted if the paper is of 150 marks.

This is only for the regular students and not for reappear or pass out students.

The system of Internal assessment, practicals and viva voice will continue as before.

These 5 marks will be counted as 25% of 20 marks and these 20 marks be evaluated as per the following criteria.

Class Attendance: -10 Marks

  • The class attendance holds 10 marks which will be given as 10% of the total attendance of the student in a particular subject for a semester.

eg:-If a student has 94% attendance of the total delivered lectures he will get 9.4 marks and if 70% attendance 7 marks

  • Below 70% attendance, the student will be detained & no marks will be given.

Continuous Internal Evaluation: - 10 Marks

The students are evaluated on the following basis:

  • Their participation in class.
  • Seminars
  • Group Discussions
  • Self Discipline
  • Conduct/Behavior in a responsible manner
  • Home Assignments and presentation
  • class performance.
  • Performance in tutorials
  • Participation in co-curricular activities
  • Performance in practicals
  • Sessional exams
  • Attire/Student turn out
  • Personal Integrity
  • Be courteous and respectful
  • Be helpful to others
  • Be creative and innovative

For 100 marks paper:-

Illustration:A Student having 96% attendance will have 9.6 marks for attendance and suppose he get 6 marks out of 10 by the subject teacher for his class performance his total would be 15.6 marks out of 20 marks and the marks will be rounded off to the nearest whole no i.e. 16 & 25% of 16marks will come out to be 4 these4 marks will be counted towards the final theory exam of the particular subject.

Then, for the final theory paper if a student scores 55 marks out of 100 firstly it would be calculated from 95 marks i.e. which comes out to be 52 and then 4

marks of attendance and internal evaluation will be added to it.

i.e. 52 +4 = 56 marks out of 100.

For 150 marks paper

If the final theory paper is of150 marks and a student scores 95 marks then firstly it would be calculated from 142 i.e. which comes out to be 89.9 & rounded off to 90.

And then 8 marks of attendance and internal evaluation will be added to 142 to get the marks from 150.Now method to calculate marks from 8 is as under:-

Eg. if a student scores 4 marks out of 5 as per the class attendance and internal evaluation then out of 8 it would be calculated by unitary method as.

Which is rounded off to 6and then the 6 marks will added to90 to get the total marks of the student 96out of 150.

For theory paper of 50 marks:

Illustration:

It the final theory paper is of 50 marks and a student scores 30 marks, then firstly it will be calculated from 47 marks i.e. which comes out to be 28.2 rounded off to 28.

And then 3 marks of attendance and evaluation will be added to 47 to get marks from 50. Now method to calculate 3 marks is as under:

Eg:It a student scores 4 marks out of 5 as per the class attendance and internal evaluation then out of 3 it would be calculated by unitary method as:

Rounded off to 2 and then 2 marks will be added to 28 to get 30 marks out of 50.

NOTE: However it should be ensured that the marks awarded are in coherence with the overall performance of the student i.e. in theory and sessionals.
