Guidelines for Technology in Education Award
1.The OKSL Technology Award shall be presented to a building-level school library media specialist employed in the school during the year covered by the nomination.
2.The OKSL Technology Award winner shall be a library media specialist who is a current member of the Oklahoma School Librarians.
3.Nominations are to be made by school library media specialists, administrators, library supervisors, classroom teachers, or may be self-nominated. Nominations must be made by a person employed in the school district during the year covered by the nomination.
4.Save the form on your desktop after filling it out; email as an attachment to , with "OKSL Technology Award" as the subject.
5.The Awards Chairperson will coordinate all awards granted by OKSL , but is a non-voting member of the committee, whose seven members include: two library media specialists, one past Polly Clarke winner, one secondary teacher, one at-large member, one elementary teacher, and one higher education member.
6.The winner of the OKSL Technology Award will be presented a plaque and cash or other award to be donated by a library-related company, if award funding is available. The award should be applied to the further development of the recipients’ skills related to technology in education.
7.The name of the winner of the OKSL Technology Award will be announced at the Oklahoma Technology Association Encyclo-Media Conference. The recipient will be recognized again at OLA. The recipient will be encouraged to present a technology related session the following year at OTA Encyclo-Media and/or at OLA.
The Technology in Education Award can be given yearly to a qualified nominee. Technology integration is a vital component of teaching in the twenty-first century, and OKSL rewards librarians at the forefront of this essential effort.
