Admission Checklist

Accept your offer of admission online through your MyPennState profile atadmissions.psu.edu/mypennstate(click onAccept your offer of admission), or sign and return the Acceptance Notification you received with your offer of admission along with the acceptance fee. If accepting by mail, please keep a copy of the signed Acceptance Notification for
your records.
Please note the reply date on the Acceptance Notification from Penn State; replying after that date may void your offer of admission.

Fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online atfafsa.ed.govafter January 1. Penn State’s priority filing date is March 1, and our school code is 003329. Visit the Office of Student Aid website,studentaid.psu.edu, for more information. Penn State will begin making student aid awards to first-year students in late March.

Take part in Penn State’sNew Student Orientation, designed to help prepare you for course selection and life as a Penn State student. Orientation has two major components: testing and advising.

Placement testing in mathbegins early in the year and continues on a rolling basis through the summer. Tests and an educational planning survey are completed online; you will receive more information about how and when to access the test after you accept your offer of admission.

The second part of orientation isa daylong informative program for you and your family. During this program, you will meet with academic advisers who will talk with you about your educational plans, help you select your first-semester courses, and discuss the educational opportunities within your area of enrollment. You and your family may also attend sessions on student activities, financial aid, career services, budget planning, and academic support services. A date for your visit to Penn State Harrisburg is set after you complete placement testing.

Pay your semester bill. Tuition bills are generated by the Office of the Bursar approximately six weeks before classes begin and can be paid online through your eLion account (elion.psu.edu). When your bill is ready, you will receive an email at your Penn State email address with instructions on how to complete payment. Please visitbursar.psu.edufor more information on semester bills and payment plan options.

Submit immunization forms. Penn State requires all students to have the Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunization. Additionally, all students living in University-owned residence halls must have the Meningococcal Meningitis vaccination. Immunization information can be entered online atstudentaffairs.psu.edu/health/myUHS/.

Arrive on campus for classes. New students arrive on campus a few days before classes begin and take part in Welcome Week activities to meet your fellow students, as well as faculty and staff. In addition, students who will reside on campus will move into the residence halls at this time. Detailed information on these activities is typically mailed to your home address in July.

You may wish to discuss your intended major with an academic adviser during New Student Orientation.
