250th Meeting 32

Safety Complex

6 pm

Attendees – Leon Holmes, Lori Holmes, Al Hinkley, Mike Rydeen, Donna Smith, Trish Coulombe, Matt Thomas, Doug Brown, Rick Pinder, Mary Wheaton- Pinder, Darlene

Guests- Carolyn Carr, and three gentlemen from the Fremont Flyers Club

Meeting opened at 6:05 pm

Matt began by thanking everyone for coming out. With close to 5 months remaining until the big event there are lots to do.

Secretary Report

Trish read the report and no corrections were made

Treasures Report

Matt reported 7012.32 currently in account

Flag payment made of 1575.00

  • Mary turned in an eighty five dollar check from the Town of Fremont for an ad in the Souvenir Booklet

Fremont Flyers Club

  • RayLake – Secretary reported as well as two other men not sure of their names
  • Contact in for RayLake – cell 603-770-4573
  • Like to be part of the event
  • No charge
  • Would like to set up a demonstration for kids
  • Flight simulators
  • 1 or 2 planes set up for trainers
  • Keep it at air field on Peterson’s property
  • Safe access to field to prevent people from being hurt and entering where the air strip is
  • Fremontflyers.com – FB page with picture
  • Operate until dusk about 7 pm that evening
  • Mike Watson the DJ will be able to let people know that they are over there

Get the word out

  • If you know of someone that would like to be a part of the event contact them and let us know we want everyone who wants to be a part be a part
  • Blacksmith- Timmy Bolduc – ( Mary will call)

Swampscott Soda

  • 26.00 per case of 24
  • 1.09 is the cost per bottle
  • Will put our logo on at no cost
  • 2 week turn around
  • 15.00 – 16.00 for empty bottles if we would like them put out on the tables at Fremont Pizzeria with flowers on them for the event
  • Mike will send artwork to the people jpeg
  • Mary gave Mike all the contact information

Fremont Plate

  • Mike created a design
  • Committee liked it
  • Cost for plate depends on the design and range from 8.95- 12.95per plate
  • Min order 50 @ 12.95 that would be 647.50
  • Committee voted to go ahead with plate idea – 11 yes 0 No’s
  • Committee voted to charge 15.00 per plate - 11 yes 0 no’s

Miss Fremont Pageant

  • Mary presented the committee with an area of concern that needed a vote
  • A Senior girl at TimberlaneHigh School who’s father resides in Sandown and mother resides in Fremont– mother would like her daughter to be a part of the pageant – Daughter never attended an schools in Fremont
  • Committee voted regarding whether she should be allowed to enter pageant – Committee voted to not allow student as she does not reside in Fremont and does not attend a Fremont or FremontTuitionSchool ( Ellis , Charter or SanbornRegionalHigh School ) Vote was 11 to not allow and 0 to allow
  • Committee also voted to keep the pagent to only girls in 8-12 grade that attend a FremontSchool. They must also reside in Fremont as well vote 11 yes 0 no
  • Mary also asked the committee to do fundraising at the event for a future 2015 pageant she asked for any fundraising that is done at the event this year be held for another pageant for next year. Matt informed Mary that he thought this was great but this would not be a Historical event and that she would be on her own. She agreed and a vote was taken for all and any fundraising done at the pageant this year will be held for the future pageant and would not go into the 250th fund

Fremont Food Pantry

Sherry Vicker and the ladies that help with the food pantry would like to do a road race and all that it entails Committee thinks that is a great idea and looks forward to the event

Pyrotechnics

Matt spoke with Jean about getting drivers license and permits to Rick Butler regarding the fireworks

Police Department

  • will be providing food and lemonade on the Sunday June 22, 2014
  • Mary showed the committee the badges that the Police will be wearing until the end of the year with the 250th anniversary on them

Church – Matt talked with Carol McFarland regarding the pancake breakfast as the minister has not returned Matts call

She told him that the minister has been busy between EastKingstonChurch and this one as well as being sick

Band

Still need a band for Sunday

Mary said the Military Band reconvenes in March we should look somewhere else

Trish offered to list it on gig master. Com and see what we get

Matt agreed

EllisSchool

  • Trish Spoke with Martha Abney the 7th and 8th Grade Social Studies teacher that Matt met with in September 2013
  • She is willing to help out and make the students a part and will take the committees suggestions
  • Committee things that students should write about the old/ new Fremont – How has Fremont Changed?
  • They committee feels that positive essays would be wonderful aspect to the event
  • Trish mentioned the singing that was talked about in September
  • Committee feels that would be add to the Thursday night event at the ball fields June 19, 2014
  • Committee would like the school to pick some songs and present them to the committee for a vote of approval

Souvenir Booklet

  • Carolyn Carr reported
  • Has not been out in a while will resume next week
  • 4-5 dozen business and only 2 absolute No’s

Garden Club

  • Carolyn Carr presented to the committee what the Garden Club would like to help with
  • Provide the centerpiece for the Church Service
  • Boutonnières for the pageant
  • 3 banners for the welcome signs regarding the 250th celebration
  • A big banner to put either by the town hall or the Meeting House advertising the event. Matt told her that it would cost about 180- 200 dollars she said yes but she will need to approve it with the Garden Club

Vendors

  • Mary questioned the cost for an antique as a gentleman reported $30 was too much Kingston charges $15 Committee took a vote and Yes 0 No’s 11 there will be no change in the spot cost for antiques

Press Release

  • Matt met with Union Leader about the event and will be in Sundays paper
  • Matt put a press release in the carriageTown
  • Trish listed event on craigslist

North Vs South

  • North is winning 400 South 200

Celebration Cake

  • Yvonne Oulette for the cake ( Mary will call )
  • Elizabeth Parks and Rec for cup cakes ( Mary will ask- committee thinks 250 cupcakes would be a great number )
