GENERAL INFORMATION
RESPONSIBILITY - AN IMPORTANT NOTICE
On all our trips we travel in remote wilderness areas. In Case of illness of injury, evacuation is slow and tedious at best. It is possible on trips of thes nature that unforeseen difficulties may be encountered, reasonable changes in itinerary may be made where deemed advisable for the comfort and safety of the expedition member. In all matters relating to travel services, Maya Expeditions and all cooperating agencies act only in the capacity of agents for individuals participating, and assume to responsibility however caused for loss of damage to person or property, injury connected with any service, including but not limited to, that directly from acts of God, detention, annoyance, delays and expenses arising from quarantine, strikes thefts, pilferage, force majeure, failure of any means of conveyance to arrive or depart as scheduled, civil disturbances, government restriction of regulations discrepancies or change in transit or hotel services over which it has no control. On advancement of deposit to Maya Expeditions, the deposit of agreed to be bound by the above recited terms and conditions. Prices subject to change without notice. Payment accepted in US dollars only.
Air Transportation: The airlines of air charter services concerned are not to be held responsible for any act, omission of event during the time passenger are not on board their planes or conveyance. If for any reason beyond the control of Maya Expeditions schedules flights or air fares are changed, any increase in air fare will be collected from expedition members, and any decrease will be refunded, Such is subject the laws of the countries involved.
RESERVATIONS
To join any of these expeditions, please complete our reservation form and return to Maya Expeditions, Along with the required deposit, A 50% deposit, with more than 60 days in advance of departure date, will hold your reservation. We will notify you of acceptance on the trip or of the alternate possibilities should the trip requested be unavailable, The balance is due 30 days prior to departure date. Reservations are accepted in some cases up to the date of departure. In reservations made with less than 30 days prior to departure date, full payment is required at the time of the reservation. If payment has not been received and no special arrangements have been made, we reserve the right ot assume cancellation.
CANCELATION
In you must cancel your reservation; your deposit and all payments will be refunded, less a cancellation fee:
30 or more days prior to departure fee is 25% of the price of the trip
15 to 30 days prior to departure fee is 50% of the price of the trip
less that 15 days No refund
Trip "no-shows" will receive no refund. No partial refunds or credits will be given for unused services. Vacation cancellation insurance is recommended.
Trip Cancellation: Maya expeditions reserves the right to cancel any trip due to insufficient bookings, though a supplementary charge can be paid to operate a trip below our minimum. In the event of trip cancellation all deposits and payments would be refunded in full. Maya Expeditions reserves the right to cancel a trip due to river conditions, weather, natural disasters, political or social unrest or any other type of apparent risk to the security of the group and equipment. In this case, the client will receive a reimbursement, equivalent to the price paid, minus the costs already spent (transportation, hotel, food or any other directly related to the trip) Maya Expeditions and participating outfitters are not responsible for any expenses incurred by trip members such as personal equipment, medical costs, air tickets, etc. Maya Expeditions reserves the right to exclude any person at any time or place from any trip, if the person reflects a negative attitude, abuse of drugs or alcohol, lack of respect for the local population and its culture, nature and the environment, the cultural or natural heritage; or not following the directions of the guide putting at risk the security and cohesion of the excursion, in this case there will be no refund and the cost incurred to return the person to the initial meeting point of the trip will be covered entirely by said person.
We strongly recommend you protect yourself and your baggage with a short term travelers insurance policy, baggage is carried entirely at owner's risk; Maya Expeditions assumes no liability whatsoever for damage, loss or delay of property beyond our control Trip cancellation insurance will cover your losses on nonrefundable air and land costs on trips cancelled due to illness or other emergency.
RELEASE AND ASSUPTION OF RISK
I am fully aware of and understand that during the expedition, trip, tour, charter, course of vacation in which I am participating under rather arrangements of Maya Expeditions, and/or its guides, agents and associates, certain risks and dangers may exist, including but not limited to the hazards of traveling down rivers in inflatable rafts, travel in rugged wilderness terrain, forces of nature, loss of property, delay, transport by plane, watercraft, motor vehicle, animals or any other conveyance, and injury or illness in remote locations without medial facilities.
In consideration of and as part payment for participation in any such trip, activity or service arranged, I have and do hereby assume all these risks and will hold harmless MAYA EXPEDITIONS, and its guides, agents and associates from any and all liability, action causes of action debts, claims and demands of every kind and nature whatsoever which I now have or which may arise during or in connection with my participation is such arrangements. The terms hereof with my signature serve as release and assumption of risk for heirs, executors, administrators and myself and for all members of my family.
I HAVE READ, UNDERSTAND AND AGREE to the conditions, especially noting the policy on cancellations, refund and responsibility described under "General Information".
