JOB DESCRIPTION

Post: Breaktime/Lunchtime Supervisor

Grade: Grade 1 (Point 10 to 11) : £3,981 - £4,051

Responsible to: Team Leader

Line manager: Business Manager

Hours: 11¼ hours per week (term time only)

Hours of work: 11.30 am – 1.45 pm 5 days per week

Area of Responsibility

To provide a general support service managing student behaviour over the lunchtime period.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

§  To work as part of a team to supervise students in areas of the school at lunchtime including the dining hall, main hall, corridors and external areas.

§  To provide positive and firm control by enforcing the college behaviour policy.

§  To encourage students’ healthy eating.

§  To ensure students queue for lunch in an orderly and safe manner.

§  Ensure students are seated when in the dining hall and clear their trays away when leaving the dining hall, including all food packaging.

§  Ensure any spillages are wiped / mopped up immediately.

§  To follow the health and safety policy of the college, report any incidents / accidents / hazards.

§  To prepare the dining areas for lunch as required.

§  Sweeping of dining room floor, cleaning any litter or food as required.

§  Respect confidential issues linked to home / students / staff / college / work and to keep confidence as appropriate.

§  Able to contribute to supervision of recreational activities and sport at lunchtime.

§  To provide cashier cover when required.

§  Any other duties as directed by the Headteacher, Line Manager or Business Manager

It may be necessary to amend this job description at anytime in the future but only after discussion with you and your trade union representative.

Your place of work will be Greenfield Community College. The school is part of the Aycliffe and Shildon Schools Education Trust (ASSET) and you may be required to work in any of the school sites within the Trust.

The post is subject to enhanced DBS disclosure and medical clearance.
