Greek Culture Presentations

Rational: Throughout this year and your future higher education, classic Greek and Roman Mythology will be alluded to and woven into literature, including many of Shakespeare’s plays. A strong foundational knowledge of mythology and Greek culture is key to understanding and analyzing the use of mythological allusions in literature.

Goal: To prepare students for the rigor of the Advanced Placement English Language and Composition program by exposing them to the skills necessary to compete nationwide with objective assessments.

Assignment: Students will create a presentation that will “teach” the class about his or her assigned section.

Presentation Criteria:

  1. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of your assigned section.
  2. Provide a creative and informative visual aid to support your presentation.
  3. Propose three higher-level questions about your section.
  4. Accurately answer questions about your assigned section posed by classmates.
  5. Meet the guidelines for the presentation time limits (15-20 minutes)
  6. Use three scholarly sources and provide a bibliography slide
  7. You must meet the 10 words/20 slides rule with pictures
