Why Greek?: No one in my family is Greek, so I definitely was curious to see what it was all about. I wanted to join an organization that challenged who I was and something that was bigger than myself.

Favorite Part: My favorite part about being Greek is all the amazing opportunities it has provided. I don’t think I will ever be able to give back as much it has given me throughout my four years here at K-State.

Fun Facts: My favorite color is PURPLE! Go ‘Cats! My favorite animal is panda bears.

Name: Taylor Smith

Major: Kinesiology, Business Minor

Why Greek?: I chose to be Greek because my older sister joined a sorority at K-State. During high school I would come up and visit her, stay in the sorority house, and attend K-State games and other functions. She had made so many new friends and it looked like a lot of fun. I saw what a great experience it was for her and I wanted the same for me.

Favorite Part: The social aspect. Being Greek has allowed me to meet so many people, not only in my chapter, but those in other sororities and fraternities as well.

Fun Facts: My favorite color is yellow. My favorite food is steak and mashed potatoes. I like Dr. Pepper and koala bears!

Name: Brian Begnoche

Hometown: Mound Ridge, KS

Year: Senior

Major: Business Management for Information Systems

Why Greek?: My two older brothers joined the Greek Community and I was able to see first-hand the experiences they were able to have because of joining a Fraternity. I also saw the lifelong friendships they were building, and how their leadership experiences was benefiting them as they looked for future employment. I saw too many positives to not at least visit some fraternities to see if it was right for me. When I visited it was clear that it was the right place for me.

Favorite Part: The best parts about being in a Greek Chapter are the opportunities that come with it. Anything from trips to sporting events to leadership possibilities on campus, all of these doors are opened up by simply joining the Greek Community. I was able to watch K-State beat KU in Lawrence because of friends in my Chapter, and am working as a Greek Ambassador right now; both would not have been possible without Greek Involvement.

Fun Facts: While at a Kansas City Royals game with my new member class, I won a custard eating contest on crown vision.

Why Greek?: I didn't join a Greek Organizationuntilmy second year on campus. As a freshman I realized all of theopportunitiesthat the Greek Community at K-State could offer, so I joined a fraternity as a sophomore. I wanted to get more involved on campus and I wanted to develop my leadership skills in an organization. I also wanted an easy way to meet people all over campus, not just in the classes I was taking. Finally I wanted to find a tight-knit group of friends on campus that I could keep for life.

Favorite Part: My favorite part about being Greek is PHILANTHROPIES! I love planning and going to event that have amazing caused linked up with them. Why Greek? I decided to go greek for many reasons. Both of my parents were in greek houses when they were at K-State and I saw how it impacte4d their life and still stayed involved as an adult. Going to a big university, I wanted to join a chapter to find a smaller community to get connected with. Joining a sorority has done that plus much more!
Favorite Part: My favorite part about being greek is having older mentors within my chapter. Whether it suggesting which organizations I should apply for or someone in my major recommending which teachers to take, have an older influence helps make the college transition even easier.
My favorite color is yellow. I hate pistachios. My favorite food is pumpkin anything. I have an awful habit of talking or texting in my sleep.
