In the final step to the process, the PHA executive team made a presentation to the Ontario Hockey Federation board of governors today. The presentation was well received by the group. We were informed that a decision would be provided to us within in 7 days. We will keep everyone updated as soon as we have the information.

OnMondayFebruary5,aspertheOHFprocesstomovetotheGTHL,thePHAboardmetwithmembersof theGTHLboardofdirectors.Themeetingwaspositiveandwediscussedmanyoftheissues and requirementsto movethePHAtotheGTHL.WewentovertheprocessassetoutbytheOHF,aswella proceduralrequirementsandrulestheGTHLusesaspartoftheirLeaguerules.Therearemanydifferences withhowtheGTHLoperates,allofwhichwebelieveareanassetto ourassociation.TheGTHLwasvery welcomingandtransparentinthemeetingandweappreciatedthetimetheytooktodiscusstheprocess.
Nextup–OnFebruary15,2018theOMHAmustadvisetheOHFiftheysupportthePickeringrequesttomove totheGTHL.TheGTHLmustalsosubmitaletterofsupporttotheOHF.OnMarch3,2018thePHAmust presenttheircasetotheOHFBoardofDirectors.

ThispastweekendthePHAconductedinterviewswithprospectivecoachingcandidatesandseveralquestions cameupregardingthePHAmove(ifapproved)totheGTHL.Whilethevastmajorityofourassociation membersareinfavorofthemoveasdiscussed(andthepassingofseveralresolutionswithrespecttomoving) inourpastAGM’s,therearestillquestionsmainlyonlogisticswithrespecttoourmove.Hereareafew questionsandanswersfromthispastweekend.

Yes,theGTHLhasadoptedapolicyofNon-Contact,regardlessofagegroupatthe‘A’level.
IhearthecostintheGTHLisabitmoreexpensive?
Therearedifferencesinthecost,howeverwhenyoutakeeverythingintoaccount,includingmoregames, travelcosts,traveltime,etctheyareprettyclosetothesame.TheGTHLdoesthingsdifferentlythanthe OMHAsothecostsarespreadoutaswellaspaiddifferentlyandwilldependontheagegroupandteam you’replayingfor.
