Marketing & PR Officer

Job Description

Accountable to:In the first instance the CEO / Sport 4 Development Manager

Responsible for:

  • Maintain and develop BCSDN social media tools – BCSDN Website, Facebook and Twitter
  • Design and implement specific marketing avenues– promotional flyers, press releases – events/stories, photographs and videos and online monthly newsletter
  • Design and collation of BCSDN Annual Report and other specific promotional documents
  • Develop branding across BCSDN sport for development programmes and services.
  • Develop and implement online questionnaires and surveys for evaluation purposes.
  • Assist in identifying and completing appropriate funding applications that will help enhance and improve the overall functioning of the organization
  • Attend and contribute to weekly and monthly team meetings ensuring that the marketing function of the organisation is maintained and enhanced throughout the calendar year

Standard of performance:

  • The post holder will be expected to meet agreed weekly/monthly/annual targets.

Person Specification:
Essential Experience:
 Experience of communications and a good understanding of tools available (Mailchimp, Textlocal, Google Forms, Weebly, Photoshop etc).
 Proven experience of managing a social media presence in line with the values of the organization.
 Experience of using marketing to drive participation and engagement and deliver oncommunication and marketing objectives.

Desirable Skills and Abilities:

 Copy writing – it is essential that you have excellent copy writing skills, especially for website, social media and email content.

 Social media - you will have experience of managing, delivering and running effective social media campaigns on Facebook and Twitter.

 Ability to develop new and creative content for website pages and other platforms.

 Email – you should be fully proficient in using email service providers to send effective email communications.

 Website analytics – you should have the ability to use website analytics (Google Analytics) and interpret the data into meaningful reports.

 Excellent project management skills – you will have experience of delivering projects on time and within budget.

 The role requires a confident, articulate and pro-active individual who is driven by results and a great team player.

 Excellent IT skills

 Ability to assimilate new skills and information.

 Ability to work with a large team of individuals to gather and manage information in line with the marketing strategy

 Ability to be creative about marketing, working within tight budget constraints to deliver on key objectives
