Super Saturdays!

The Super Saturday with Meg last Fall was great fun! We built things with straws & pins to represent “Unity with Diversity”. The Lincoln Love Day was held in February 2017. Then on April 8th, 2017, we had a sponsorship workshop. We all learned about the importance of Sponsorship and of being a Sponsor. On June 17th, we had a picnic that OA’s and their families could attend. It was fun and we learned more about some of our Lincoln members and had a relaxing visit with them and all the others that attended. We want to thank Amy and Julie W. for their service.

The next Super Saturday is on August 5th, 2017 at Douglas County Hospital. It’s from 10 am to Noon. The theme is “How to carry the message to your health care provider”. There is an OA Meeting at Douglas County from 8:30 to 9:30 am, with the workshop following. We will be having another Journaling workshop with the date to be announced.

The Retreat is sooner than we think! The dates are Sept. 15th thru the 17th. So It is time to think about baskets and projects for the Craft Fair.

Loving the Step Principles

  1. We admitted we were powerless over food—that our lives had become unmanageable. Principle: Honesty
  2. Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity. Principle: Hope.
  3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him. Principle: Faith.
  4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves. Principle: Courage.
  5. Admitted to God, to ourselves and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs. Principle: Integrity.
  6. Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character. Principle: Willingness.
  7. Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings. Principle: Humility.
  8. Made a list of all persons we had harmed and became willing to make amends to them all. Principle: Self-Discipline.
  9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others. Principle: Love for others.
  10. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong, promptly admitted it. Principle: Perseverance.
  11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out. Principle: Spiritual Awareness.
  12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these Steps, we tried to carry this message to compulsive overeaters and to practice these principles in all our affairs. Principle: Service.
