Location:The Under 5s Team are based at GreaterSport, National Squash Centre and Regional Arena, Rowsley Street, Manchester M11 3FF.There may be a requirement to come into this office from time to time but the work can take place across Greater Manchester.

Key external partners:The Training Delivery Partners will work on a project basis and the projects could take place within any of the following; PVI nursery settings, maintained nurseries, primary schools, children’s centres, health centres, FE Colleges, Physical Activity providers, GreaterSport offices.

Purpose of Post:

GreaterSport is seeking a team of Training Delivery Partners to work with the Under 5s team. The Under 5s team deliver a combination of “off-the-shelf” and bespoke workforce training programmes to upskill the early years, primary and health sector in the role of physical development for children from birth to 5 years old.

The Training Delivery Partners will work on a self-employed basis and will be asked to work on an ad-hoc basis to co-deliver/deliver physical activity programmes to education, health colleagues, parents and in the community. The Under 5s Team will be in charge of the project and will work with the most relevant Training Partnerto deliver objectives and outcomes of the project.

With experience of working with children from 0-5 years, you will demonstrate the ability to work well with a broad range of clients; children, parents/carers, health and education colleagues.

Key Tasks:

  • To liaise with the Under 5s team on the progress of the training programme/projects
  • To meet deadlines for the training programme/projects
  • To project manage the day-to-day running of the projects/programmes and to feedback any issues to the Under 5s Team
  • To work with education, health, and physical activity colleagues across the public and private sector
  • Keep records of attendances, follow up registered attendees
  • To work with children (and their families) from 0-5 years
  • With support from the GM Under 5s team, collect data that demonstrates impact of the training and provide an evaluation of the programme/project at the end of the agreed programme.
  • To remain flexible and adaptable to any additional demand as it is confirmed, and to be available to work different hours including weekends / evenings as required.

This work requires a confident person with experience and a passion for physical activity and experience ofworking within the Early Years sector.

As a guide, applicants will be expected to either have, hold or be willing to undertake, Safeguarding training, Paediatric First Aid, Enhanced DBS certificate and evidenced, up to date, Early Years Curriculum (EYFS) and UK Physical Activity Guidelines for 0-5 years knowledge.
