·  Nominations and business from Safety Meeting 4/16/2011

IR 23 was accepted as a full unit into the GWA

President nominations: Bill Cash, Marsh Wise, and Chris Ruff.

Vice President nominations: Kevin Brown, Shawn Roberts.

Treasurer nominations: Chris Garcia.

Secretary nominations: Brad Busch, Eugene Poplavski.

Allied Combat Commander: John Kulaga.

Central Powers Combat Commander: Rob Zienta.

Allied Representative: Jim Higginbottom, Jeff Holder.

Central Powers Representative: Steve Murphy, Tom “Scampi” Galleher.

·  Officers report

  1. Treasurer

·  225 approximate Attendance.

·  Will order more that 60 smoke in the fall.

·  Liability insurance re-news in June.

·  Should have face-to-face G-8 meeting at non-event times in order to cover large items.

·  Should go back to G-8 radio net for events.

·  Modest deficit projected in the very conservative 2011 budget.

·  G-8 needs more teeth to enforce rules.

·  Found and placed 8 boxes of GWA records in the registration shed.

·  Units had a great time.

·  Weather kept numbers down.

·  Set good standard with combat on Friday night of event.

·  Friday night wide open because of bad weather forecast for Saturday.

·  No complaints no injuries.

·  Safety meetings brevity was appreciated because of weather.

·  Focus of trench work to be on Death Valley.

·  GWA may get corporate sponsorship for centennial.

·  Meetings need to be on-line at times in the future.

·  Report never called for due to time constraints.

·  Friday night going strong may take away from Saturday nights.

·  No major injuries.

·  One of the best events in a long time.

·  Extra combat on Friday was a great addition.

·  Canadian nurse toured German nurses.

·  See problem with mentoring for women’s impressions.

·  Buff’s were taking pyro and putting it down stovepipes. Incident report to be forwarded to G-8.

·  Suggest member survey to gauge interest in numerous items

·  Germans were very aggressive.

·  Event exceeded expectations with the weather.

·  John Kulaga commented: That the GWA needs to gear events toward combat to keep interest of younger members.

·  Death Valley project as planned is not very playable from an Allied point of view. Needs review for all sides.

·  Independents need to apply to GWA and this needs to be enforced.

·  Large pryo in November.

·  May want to institute side centralized pyro dumps to make inspection easier.

·  Motions

  1. Increase the emergency fund from $3000 to $5000. Motion Passed 7-0.
  2. Increase the Combat Commanders and Trench masters fund from $300 a year to $500 a year. Motion Passed 6-0 one abstention (Treasurer).
  3. Add $5000 more to the site development budget. Motion Passed 7-0.

·  To Do Items

  1. Form a Centennial planning committee.
  2. Ammunition inspection to be done again.
  3. Hair cut inspection to be done again.
  4. Re-institute authenticity committee.
  5. Organize safety waivers and decide what to do with archives.
