Coach Jay Buckley: born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware; went to the University of North Dakota; coached 6 years at Taylors Falls, MN; 9 years at Minocqua Falls, WI; arrived at Graves County in the spring of 1985.
For the first twenty years, Graves shared a very old stadium with Mayfield High. Built by the WPA in the 1930’s, the place is fraught with history...or is a dump...depending on your point of view. (a la Wrigley Field, perhaps)
The new Graves County High stadium (at the school) opened in 2007.
