August 8, 2013
The meeting was called to order by Vice Chairman, Britton Carroll.
Members present: Britton Carroll – Vice Chairman, Klark Hataway – Secretary/Treasurer, Herman “Buddy” Collins – Member and Winston Roberts – Member. Absent member: Randell Fletcher – Chairman. Also present at the meeting were Darrell Glascock and Andrew Glascock.
The minutes of the July meeting were read and a motion to accept was made by Winston Roberts and seconded by Buddy Collins.

Darrell and Andrew Glascock discussed the Sales Tax Proposition on the Tobacco & Alcohol tax. The legal work was prepared by Foley & Jedell. The Notice on the Sales Tax Proposition was published in The Chronicle today, Thursday, August 8, 2013. The Resolutions will run in The Chronicle on September 5, 2013, September 12, 2013, September 19, 2013 and September 26, 2013 prior to the election. This Sales Tax would only apply to Tobacco and Alcohol. The tax will be split as 50% of the tax to be used for road improvements, the other 50% to be used for other parish improvement projects.
Darrell Glascock stated that the “New business” is to be coming in next week to look at a few locations. They are serious and have money to spend. Will keep GPEDD updated regarding the visit.
Ed Stewart is scheduled for a ride around in a couple of weeks to look at locations for a Bank/Credit Union branch in Grant Parish. They have been given several areas of interest but seems that they may be focused in opening in the Creola area for many reasons in addition to the opportunity to assist the employees at the Casino.
A motion to adjourn was made by Klark Hataway and seconded by Winston Roberts.
