SEPTEMBER 06, 2017 MINUTES

Grand Knight’s Report:

-Welcomes everyone back

-Bill Pie passed away; there will be no services, but there will be a memorial in the future

-If you wish to become a fourth degree, there will be additional information after the meeting

-Congratulates Matt Blanchette on the new addition to his family

Chaplain:

-Carl Anderson discussion and how brotherhood can grow outside of fraternities

-Encouraged fraternity inside and outside of brotherhood

Treasurer:

-Over $14,000 available

Committees:

-Tootsie Roll Drive:

- Saturday September 30th and Sunday October 1st

- Will be outside of Stop N Shop and St. Johns

- Price Right and Wal-Mart said no, but Price Right is making a donation

- Volunteers are still needed as well as team captains

- Team captains are three hour slots

-Golf Tournament:

- October 14th at Stanley Golf Course

- 9 am registration; 11 am shot gun start

- Cost is $135 tentatively

- There will be a dinner following the event

-Memorial Mass:

- November 8th

-Pancake Breakfast:

- November 26th; breakfast with Santa

- May 20th; red, white and blue theme

-Christmas Tree Lighting:

- Sometime in December; no official date

-Steak Night:

- December 15th

-Free Throw Contest:

- January 13th or 20th

- Cromwell PTA will be involved

-Man of the Year:

- Short meeting following council meeting

- Election will be held the week before Thanksgiving

-Building Committee:

- Owner next door has cleaned up the place

- Lowered price of the hall a bit

- Previous buyer may be totally out

-Blood Drive:

- Saturday September 16th from 8 to 1

- We are just providing the location

-Parish Picnic:

- Sold over 350 tickets

- Thanked those who volunteered

District Deputy;

-Thanked council for nominating him for district deputy of the year

-Thanked council for all we’ve done the previous fraternal year

-Encourages us to build on star council from last year

-Need Building Committee to fill out paperwork for Supreme Council

-4th degree next Wednesday at St. Mary’s tentatively

Insurance Agent:

-K of C was down in Florida before Red Cross

-Money goes helping those who have been affected by disasters

Unfinished Business:

-Motion made to donate $150 towards Parish Picnic; paperwork needs to be filed first

New Business:

-Motion passed to spend $199 on Keep Christ in Christmas buttons

-Thanked council for participation and support of Families Feeding Families

-Volunteers needed to help bring pasta from food drive to destination

Other:

- Installation of officers
