Instructions for Using This Form

Every D.C. chapter and/or companion is invited to submit one companion who has performed with distinction as a man and a Royal Arch Mason for the District of Columbia Grand Chapter’s Meritorious Award, General Grand Chapter Bronze or Silver Medal Award.

The Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of the District of Columbia, presents the Meritorious Award. The Bronze and Silver Medal awards are presented by the General Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons International. Bronze is limited to those Companions who have not served nor are in line to serve as Grand High Priest. Silver is open to any Companion. The Grand Chapter can only nominate one companion for the each award annually. The General Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons International determines the final decision for the Bronze and Silver Awards.

The companion being proposed should be a good representative of the Royal Arch, reflecting the ideals, enthusiasm and commitment to the Order in all ways. The DC Grand Royal Arch Chapter will appoint an Awards committee which will determine who will be awarded the Meritorious Award, and may select one Companions for the Bronze and Silver Awards to be forwarded to the General Grand Chapter by November 30th of each year. The committee will evaluate all aspects of his life, including Masonic, community services, family life, religious activities and more. The man recommended should have a well rounded life that would cause others to look up to him, bringing pleasure to himself and honor to the Royal Craft.

When the committee meets, each committee member will score each section of this report. The final score will determine the winner. Please include all information you have about the nominee, as the committee will determine the winner based solely on what is written in this report. Scores can often be very close, so it is imperative that you provide as much information as you can.

This form will be the only criteria used to determine to forward to the General Grand Chapter Bronze and Silver Medal recipient(s) as well the Grand Chapter Meritorious Service Award, IF ANY.

It is important that the nominee does not know that he has been nominated to prevent possible disappointment or resentment towards the recipients.

DEADLINE IS January 1 ANNUALLY

This form should be submitted to the Grand Scribe by the above date. No exceptions! Nomination forms will not be re-used the following year, consideration will only be from new submissions. The work of the committee is secret, in order to protect all the individuals involved.
