Dear colleague:

Allow me to introduce myself. I am a UCR professor, and own an European-style luxury Bed and Breakfast, that specializes in providing quality accommodation at reasonable cost for foreign professors visiting our universities. "Gran Casa Universitaria" is located right in the University District, very near the University of Costa Rica, more specifically, in the San Pedro-Sabanilla sector of residential East San José, about 2 miles from downtown. We are walking distance to all attractions of the lively University District of San Pedro, and close the plush Embassy-row neighborhood of Los Yoses. We provide an alternative to commercial hotels, where in a family atmosphere of relaxed luxury and comfort, a select clientele of academics and professional from around the world, make "Gran Casa" their home away form home.

"Gran Casa" has two locations. One is a fine residence, full of original art and antiques, directly across the street from the University of Costa Rica’s main campus, in the heart of activity of the University District. The address is:

"Gran Casa Universitaria"
Costado norte Universidad de Costa Rica en San Pedro
150 mts oeste Hotel D´Galah, frente Facultad de Medicina UCR
casa columnas de piedra y portones grises.

The other is a modern building with great views, a couple of blocks away in a quiet residential neighborhood near UCR's Research Campus ("Ciudad de la Investigación") and UCR´s Sport Facilities, where we have our larger apartments and studios for families and people who are staying longer term, or who prefer more room and privacy, and a more quiet residential setting. Our address is:

"Gran Casa Universitaria"
Carretera a Sabanilla, de la "Cosecha" 300 metros norte 20 metros oeste
Edificio 4 pisos, piedra y azulejo azul.
