Clinical activities:

Consultant paediatrician focusing my practice on allergic respiratory disease (including difficult asthma) and food allergy. I also participate in the acute paediatric on-take rota in Southampton.

Research activities:

These focus on (1) understanding the natural history of paediatric and early adult allergic disease and how we can modify this and (2) developing novel interventions to improve the management of paediatric allergic disease. I collaborate with colleagues throughout the UK, Europe and the USA.

Other activities:

I coordinate the undergraduate child health teaching in the University of Southampton. Nationally I am a member of the British Paediatric Respiratory Society difficult asthma group. At a European level I am the secretary of the EAACI taskforce on anaphylaxis in children (position paper in press in Allergy).
