Call to Order and Roll Call. The meeting was called to order by Chair Morrissey at 3:08P.M. A member sign-in sheet was passed. October, 2011 and January 2012 minutes were approved.
Dean’s Report. Dean Comrie updated council on Graduate admissions
Chair’s Report. Chair Morrissey had no report this month but mentions President Hart has been brought onboard.
GPSC Report- All three of the grant proposals to the Student Services Fee Advisory Board were approved (for one year each):
112K for our Travel Grant program (this is in addition to funding given from the Graduate college)
20K for Professional Development Opportunities Grants
25K for Childcare Subsidizing with UA Life & Work Connections
Graduate and Professional Student Appreciation (GPSA) Week is April 15-20, It will include Breakfast north of Speedway, a BBQ on the mall, the PhD Comics movie, a picnic for graduate students with families, and an awards ceremony.
Nominations for for GPSC Achievement Awards are due March 31. Cash Awards available.

New Business
Grade Appeal policy – proposal presented by Patti King and was approved by council with a unanimous vote.
Name Change proposal: Applied and Industrial Physics – Koen Visscher presented proposed name change to Medical Physics. Council voted to approve unanimously.
Best use of 900 waivers- Dorian and Andrew presented a possible change – to include all Grad students and to shorten the term to 2 semesters. Positive feedback was given and the change is being considered.
Overview of Gradpath- Dianne Horgan presented a slideshow on the features of Gradpath.
Dr.Horgan offered a link to “Gradedge” on the CGS webpage.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:20 p.m. The next meeting of the Graduate Council is April 20th, 2012
