Pre-Calculus
Pre-Calculus provides students an honors-level study of trigonometry, advanced functions, analytic geometry, and data analysis in preparation for calculus. Applications and modeling should be included throughout the course of study. Appropriate technology, from manipulatives to calculators and application software, should be used regularly for instruction and assessment.

Grading: Your grade in Pre-Calc will be calculated as follows:

Tests 60% 1st Quarter40% A = 93-100
Quizzes 30% 2nd Quarter40% B = 85-92
Classwork Final Exam20% C = 77-84
Homework 10% D = 70-76
F = 0-69

Tests: Tests will be given at the end of each unit. If you miss a test, you must make arrangements to make it up afterschool within 1 week. Retesting: Every student who does not pass a test will have the opportunity to retake the test. Retests will be done during afterschool tutorials. Students must receive remediation prior to retesting. Retesting must be done before the end of the next unit.

Quizzes: Quizzes will be given periodically throughout each unit.Students are required to take quizzes regardless of whether or not they were in attendance the previous day. If you are absent for a quiz you will be marked exempt. Review material may be quizzed at anytime! Quizzes may be unannounced!!

Homework: Homework will be assigned nightly. It will be checked the following day for completeness. No work = no credit. HW is vital to learning. Do it!

Attendance and Late Work: Regular attendance is essential to your success. Please be aware of the WCPSS School Board Policy regarding attendance. In the event of an absence, it will be your responsibility to make arrangements for all make-up work immediately upon your return.
