GRADE # 2: Final Exam, covering Fromkin, Rodman & Hyams, Chaps 7-12, plus PowerPoints and discussions

NOTE: All student work must be presented in hard-copy form. I will not accept anything from students in the form of e-mail attachments.

PRINTING PowerPoints: PowerPoint wallpaper has been deleted to conserve ink and paper. If you print PowerPoints it’s best to print six slides per page to conserve ink and paper.

OPTIONAL EXTRA CREDIT RESEARCH PAPER

In ENG 213, you can write a research paper for extra credit. This paper could increase your final grade in the course by one full grade (e.g. from C- to B-). Your research paper will need to be on aspect of humor or language play. Appropriate topics include Caricature, Double Entendre, Humor, Irony, Intertextuality, Jokes, Language Play, Metaphor, Paradox, Parody, Practical Jokes, Satire, Sarcasm, Wit, etc. When you have chosen your topic, please e-mail it to me so that I can send you a PowerPoint and references related to your topic.
