Governor’s Cross Country Run
2009
Bardstown High School would like to invite you to participate in the renewal of its cross country invitational on October 17, 2009. The event will take place at the Wickland Estates located inside of the city limits of Bardstown. The Invitational offers elementary, middle school, junior varsity, and varsity races. The course is a new course that offers a diversity of terrain and is sure to offer the runner a unique challenge. In addition, for the history buff, Wickland is a Federal style estate home that was the home of three governors. It was built in 1825 – 1828. It features Georgian architecture and is open for guided tours. The estate is a working farm. In addition, there will be a Civil War Living History weekend at the Old Bardstown Village which is located adjacent to Wickland. Enjoy the race and then learn about life as it was during the Civil War days. We hope that you will consider our invitational in planning your cross country schedule.

AWARDS
INDIVIDUALS -Top 30 will receive rewards in all races. Type of reward based on number of entries. Top runners in each race will receive an additional reward. Awards will be determined by the number of participants in each race/
TEAM – Top 3 teams receive trophies.
*Awards subject to change based depending on the number of entrants.
Individual awards will be given out in the finish chute. Top individual and team awards will be presented at the completion of the high school races, middle school races and elementary races.

The deadline for entries is Monday, October 12, 2009. Make checks payable to Bardstown High School.

Use Team Manager to enter. Email entries to . Export only a roster and in the email please designate which events you will have entry.
CONCESSIONS – Will be available at the meet. At this time it has not been decided about the availability of tee shirts.
PARKING – Parking of buses and cars is to take place in the Wickland Baptist Church Parking Lot or where directed to park.
DIRECTIONS – Wickland is located at 550 Bloomfield Road in Bardstown. From Louisville: If coming on I65 take the Bernheim Exit to Bardstown. Stay on 245 to Bardstown. At the 7th stoplight (US 62) turn right. Go one half mile and Wickland will be on the right. The church is just past the home. From Louisville on 31E. Go to the 2nd stoplight and turn left. At the 3rd stoplight on 245, turn right and go one half mile to the Wickland, which will be on the right. Traveling on the Bluegrass Parkway: If headed from the Elizabethtown area go to the 2nd Bardstown exit. If traveling west from Lexington, take the 1st Bardstown exit. Turn toward Bardstown and at the 1st stoplight turn right (Wal-Mart and Lowes intersection). Go to the 2nd stoplight (US 62) and turn left. Go one half mile and Wickland will be on the right. Traveling west on US 62: Go through 2 stoplights. Wickland will be one half mile from the 2nd stoplight on the right. Traveling east through Bardstown: Go to the junction of US 62 and US 150 (Keene’s Depot on the left and My Old Kentucky Home Country Club on the right), turn left on US 62 and go one quarter mile, Wickland Baptist Church will be on the left and Wickland will be immediately past the church.
