SERIES 'X' PART VII

Subject :Document to be carried on board by Indian Registered Aircraft.

1. APPLICABILITY :

In accordance with Aircraft Rule 7 all aircraft registered in India shall carry valid documents as specified in this CAR.

1.1 This, however, does not absolve an operator from the responsibility of carriage of any other document that is required by any other authority in the country.

2. SCOPE :

2.1 No person in charge of any aircraft shall allow such aircraft to be flown unless the following valid documents (as applicable) are carried on board the aircraft :

GROUP A.

i. Certificate of Flight Release.

ii. Flight Manual when required by Certificate of Airworthiness.

iii. Minimum Equipment List, if applicable.(Reference CAR Series B, Part I)

iv. Weight Schedule. (Reference CAR Series 'X' Part II)

v. Technical Log or Flight Log Book, as applicable to Public Transport Aircraft.(Reference CAR Series 'C' Part II)

vi. Load and Trim Sheet, as applicable to Scheduled and Non-Scheduled operators of Public Transport aircraft.( Reference CAR Series 'X' Part II)

vii. If the aircraft carried dangerous goods, a list of such goods. This list must be specifically brought to the notice of Pilot-in-Command, before the flight.

viii.Current and suitable navigation charts/maps for the planned flight route and all other routes along which it is reasonable to expect that the flight may be diverted (need not be carried on local flights).

ix. Cockpit and Emergency Check List unless these form part of Flight Manual, carried on board. (Reference CAR Series 'B' Part II).

Note : Check lists for take off, cruise and landing phases be displayed in the cockpit unless the lists form a part of Operations manual/Flight Manual, carried on board.

GROUP B.

  1. Certificate of Registration.
  2. Certificate of Airworthiness.
  3. Journey Log Book or equivalent documents approved by the DGCA.
  4. Appropriate Licences for each member of the flight crew.
  5. Aeromobile Radio operation Licence for Radio Communication apparatus.
  6. Working copies of the aircraft, engine, variable pitch propeller and radio communication apparatus log books, as applicable. (Reference CAR Sec.2 Series X Part-VI).
  7. Cabin Crew Manual, if applicable
  8. Operations Manual, if applicable.
  9. Route guides, if applicable.
  10. A document attesting Noise Certification of the aeroplane.
  11. Checklist of the procedures to be followed in searching for a bomb in case of suspected sabotage and subsequent action required.
  12. Air Operator Permit.

2.2 The documents, as required in Group 'A' of Para 2.1 of this part of CAR to be carried on board, shall be stowed in a suitable place accessible to the pilot in flight. Other documents, specified in Para 2.1 Group 'B' may be carried in any other safe place on board the aircraft.

2.3 An aircraft which does not leave the vicinity of its starting place and returns without landing elsewhere to its starting place, needs to carry only those documents which have been spelt in Group 'A' of Para 2.1 above.

3. All passenger aircraft with AUW of 15,000 Kg. and above, operated by Scheduled, Non-Scheduled and Private Operators shall provide passenger safety information briefing card at every passenger seat location. The passenger safety information briefing card shall make use of symbology to convey the instructions in a clear and concise manner. The

passenger safety information briefing card shall at least cover the following instructions :-

a. When seat belts are to be fastened. Illustration showing the fastening, tightening and unfastening of seat belts.

b. When and how Oxygen equipment is to be used.

c. Restrictions on Smoking.

d. Location and method of opening emergency exits.

e. Use of evacuation slides.

f. How to brace oneself while experiencing impact loads for all seat orientation.

g. Location and Use of Life Saving Rafts/Jackets for over water flights.

h. Routes from passenger area to emergency exits.

4. In case a document has been submitted to a competent authority for renewal or for any other action, that fact shall be deemed as valid excuse for its not being carried on board an aircraft.
