Good Evening Titans

Good Evening Titans,

I’d like to thank you all for an amazing opening week at Toll Middle School. “EJT” really had an “NRG” as the 2016-2017 school year got underway. A special thank you to our custodial team, ETIS and FASO for their roles in making sure the campus community was ready for our faculty and students on Day 1.

Here is a glimpse of the week ahead. Thursday is a big day at Toll as we are on a minimum day schedule in preparations for Back to School Night. Our evening program begins at 5:00 p.m. with the first PTA/Foundation Association meeting of the school year. Please join our “parent power” in the auditorium for a look at goals of the association for this year and beyond. This meeting will be followed by our first Title I meeting of the school year. Come meet our new specialist, Mrs. Tamara Johnson, and hear about what our categorical office has planned in support of students.

A reminder, if you have not yet completed your Free and Reduced Lunch Application we need all households to do this ASAP as we are given federal dollars for every application submitted and the overall percentage of households who qualify. We ask that all families complete this application, even those who do not believe they will qualify for free or reduced lunch. Thank you in advance for your time to completing this task on behalf of all of our students.

Back to School Night letters went home with students on Friday. Your student should have written their schedule on this letter, which will allow you to replicate a typical day at Toll for your Titan. Families with a student with a Period 0 should begin assembling in classrooms by 5:45 p.m.; all other families should be in Period 1 by 6:00 p.m. to begin their tour of Toll. Please note, this evening is not one for individual conferences about your student, but rather to preview the year ahead. Parents who need to meet with teachers privately are encouraged to e-mail and request a conference at a time that works for both the household and the teacher(s). Thank you.

Stay tuned for more details about tryouts for the 2016 girls’ and boys’ basketball teams. Our gymnasium is currently undergoing floor repairs, but tryouts begin this month for both teams.

I hope you had a terrific first weekend, and I look forward to seeing all of you at BTSN this Thursday. Have a wonderful week ahead!
